Founded by co-founder of PIG magazine and RETROSUPERFUTURE sunglasses, Simon Beckerman, DEPOP is a global marketplace that enables users to sell and buy items of clothing and accessories. The company has offices in London, Milan, Los Angeles and New York and has collaborated with brands such as Nike and Converse. It is favoured by millennials and Gen-Z consumers.

In June 2019 the company raised a further $62 million in Series C funding from General Atlantic. Previous investors HV Holtzbrinck Ventures, Balderton Capital, Creandum, Octopus Ventures, TempoCap and Klarna co-founder Sebastian Siemiatkowski all also participated.

From August to October 2019, Depop staged a physical pop-up in London's Selfridges, where its favourite sellers were featured on weekly rotation.
