Established in 1951 by Achille Maramotti, Max Mara is a premium Italian fashion house producing and selling ready-to-wear clothing. The company owns 35 different labels, including Sportmax and Weekend Max Mara, but Max Mara remains the core label. In 2018, the company purchased a Grade II listed building in Bond Street spending £141m.
The building currently includes the Salvatore Ferragamo store, which will not move until 2033. The brand is also known establishing several awards, including the Max Mara Art Prize for Women and the Women in Film Max Mara Face of the Future Award. Max Mara is sold in over 100 countries around the world.
