Founded in 2013, the Idle Man is an e-commerce website that specialises in menswear and was set up by Oliver Tezcan, who had previously worked for ASOS. The website scouts the world for the best brands and only sell the ones they would wear.
The company also owns three labels: Idle Projects, introduced in 2018, the Idle Man and T.I.M. All three are fashionably sourced and designed in Shoreditch, London. It aims to provide a more premium offer to 20-something men at accessible prices.
Tezcan made a splash by appearing on Dragon’s Dan but failed to make a deal with fashion industry expert Touker Souleyman due to equity demands. It went on to raise a further £1.25m from existing and new investors, after which it staged a £500,000 fundraise via Crowdcube.
