Founded by Edzard van der Wyck (now heading up Wycked Ventures) and Toby Darbyshire in 2015, Heist is a direct-to-consumer hosiery brand whose aim is to create garments that are break-through in their design, manufacturing techniques and materials.
The tights are sewn in one continuous seam that ends at the base of the foot rather than the tips of the toes, have a thread count of 5,000, compared to the standard 500, and a large elastic waistband – which makes the different from anything else on the market. Backed by leadings VCs, including Natalie Massenet's Imaginary Ventures, Heist has raised $8.1m in funding so far.
It has recently made a move into the shapewear market and has opened a store in London's Seven Dials.
