In 1949, Bernard Gantmacher, founded a shirt-making company in the college town of New Haven, Connecticut. At the time the town of New Haven was one of America's capitals of clothing manufacture. One reason for this was that it had a large community of Italian immigrants, many of whom were talented garment workers.
Today, Gant has global presence in over 70 markets, 750 stores and 4,000 selected retailers. With 1300+ employees, they have 7 global offices with their HQ in Stockholm.
A pioneer of the American preppy lifestyle, Gant offers a Scandinavian take on classic American sportswear. Gant recently amalgamated all its sub-labels back into the single parent brand.
