Known as the 'one stop shop' for all parents and kids, Mothercare was one of the UK's leading parent and child focussed retailers. Committed to brining new products and making the life of both children and parents easier, Mothercare had become a popular retail brand amongst many shoppers in the UK.

Originally the brand focussed on pushchairs, nursery furniture and maternity clothing, later expanding into kidswear up to the age of 8. Mothercare operates internationally through franchises in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

In November 2019 the retailer announced that they had called in in administrators after describing the UK arm of the business as "unsustainable". After closing all of its 79 stores and website, the UK arm of the business now operates as a franchise subsidiary of the overall group.

In August 2020, Mothercare finalised a 10 year deal with Boots to sell products in the high street chain's stores.
