Farfetch is an online luxury fashion retail platform that sells products from more than 3,000 brands from around the world and was founded in 2007 by the Portuguese entrepreneur José Neves. As well as the marketplace, Farfetch has partnerships with some of the world’s leading luxury brands and department stores, including Harrods and Chanel, with whom it is working on optimising its stores for the digital era.
In 2016 it bought premium boutique Browns which it uses as a testbed for its omnichannel technology, Store of the Future. In 2017 Net-A-Porter founder Natalie Massenet joined the business as an investor and non-executive co-chair.
Last year Farfetch floated on NYSE in a $5.8bn move and in February it revealed gross merchandise value of $1.4bn throughout 2018.
