Founded in 2006 by Mahmud Kamani and Carol Kane, Boohoo is a UK-based online fashion retailer aimed at 16-30 year olds. The brand sells to over 100 countries and it specialises in its own brand of fashion clothing. The products are designed and sourced largely in the UK, and subsequently distributed globally.

The group also operates the BoohooMAN, Pretty Little Thing, Nasty Gal, Miss Pap, Karen Millen and Coast brands. It is the most high-profile business to emerge from the Manchester supply scene.

In August 2019 revenue details for the year was released, showing an increased revenue of £434.6 million, up 16% on the previous year, with growth in all key focus markets.

Also in 2019 the group acquired the brands and online businesses of Karen Millen and Coast from Icelandic bank Kaupthing and will be relaunching them as online-only brands in October.
