Boohoo names former Matalan CEO as Deputy Chairman

Boohoo Group has appointed Alistair McGeorge as Deputy Chairman and Independent Non-Executive Director, effective immediately.

Succeeding Brian Small as Deputy Chairman, McGeorge will also act as interim Chair of the Audit Committee until the search for another Non-Executive Director to fulfil the role is complete. In addition, he will serve on the group's Remuneration, Nomination, Risk and ESG committees.

McGeorge is currently the Non-Executive Chairman of East Imperial and The Original Factory Shop, as well as Chair of the Retail Trust, which provides support to retail employees.

He has worked within the retail industry over the last 30 years and has held the roles of CEO or Chairman at various retail brands in the UK, including Matalan and New Look.

The announcement coincides with the departure of Neil Catto, who has stepped down as Executive Director after nearly 12 years with the group, the majority of which was spent as Chief Financial Officer.
