Retail Recap: The important openings and partnerships of October 2023

As October comes to a close, the retail sector reflects on a rocky month as consumers tighten their purse strings and hold back on non-essential shopping.

Throughout the month, there has been a mixed bag of trading updates from companies such as New Look, Deckers Brands and Adidas.

TheIndustry.fashion has curated a list of the retail stores that have opened this month, as well as a number of partnerships from businesses including Burberry, Converse and Kenzo.

Store Openings

Zara made a grand return to Metrocentre with a doubled-in-size store

Global fashion retailer, Zara, returned to the North East's Metrocentre after undergoing a major refurbishment and more than doubling in size of their retail unit.

Red Run opened its flagship store at Liverpool ONE

Women’s activewear brand Red Run has opened a 1,400 sq ft flagship store at Liverpool ONE shopping centre.

French brand Sézane is to open its second London store, or "Appartement", in London in the upscale neighbourhood of Marylebone.

Oakley opened a second London store on Carnaby Street

US eyewear, apparel, footwear and sports equipment brand Oakley opened its second London store at 23 Carnaby Street, adding to its existing store a 1-4 King Street in Covent Garden.

JD was the latest retail giant to open its doors at The Ashley Centre

Sportswear retailer JD opened the doors to its 4,453 sq ft regional flagship at CBRE Investment Management’s Ashley Centre in Epsom.
