Barbour and C.P. Company’s latest collaboration is typified by "Innovation through tradition"

Just weeks after Barbour’s collaboration with Erdem debuted at London Fashion Week, the heritage outerwear brand joined forces with Italian label C.P. Company on a collection of coats.

The second chapter of Barbour x C.P. Company’s collaboration explores the two brands’ constant search for innovation through tradition.

1971-founded C.P. Company is known for its functional outerwear and use of innovative fabrics and techniques. Weaving this into Barbour’s DNA of coats made from classic waxed cotton, the collection offers a "fusion of archetypal elements utilising the expertise of both brands".

Organic waxed cotton combined with C.P. Company construction results in hard-wearing garments in an earthy colour palette. Natural plant dyes were used to add brighter colours to some of the more earthy shades.

A seamless fusion of the two brand's most recognisable signatures, the waxed outerwear styles are finished with C.P. Company's watch lens and goggles as well as a split compartment pocket to the chest.

Ian Bergin, Director of Menswear at Barbour, said: "Iconic is a over-used term. But both C.P. Company and Barbour have a rich tradition of innovation, intelligent design and form and function. Both brands have created truly iconic products which are based on their use and practicality and throughout the years become recognized as great products spanning generations and tastes... Massimo Osti created a design language condensing militaria and service garments into a recognizable design signature."

Paul Harvey, Designer at C.P. Company, added: "Working with Barbour is always a tremendous pleasure since the two brands have so much in common but this time was especially good as we finally got to taste firsthand the Barbour experience on the shores of the North Sea. We think the resulting jackets reflect the closeness of the brands and also their shared integrity in everything they do."

Championing circularity, the range is completed with 25 limited edition re-loved Barbour jackets, produced in Barbour’s factory in South Shield.  Each jacket will be available from 9 October on C.P..com where all the proceeds will be donated to the World Land Trust charity.
