Copenhagen based sustainable unisex eyewear brand MessyWeekend has announced a UK first wholesale agreement with sales agency Trend Union for SS23.

MessyWeekend will further bolster Trend Union’s wholesale portfolio which includes A. Kjaerbede, Green Factory, Revolution, Barner and Conscious Step.

Mads Koch Peterson, Co-founder of MessyWeekend, said: “Partnering with Trend Union, MessyWeekend is aiming to bring its modern approach to eyewear with a twist to the UK in style by partnering with the best fashion, lifestyle and department stores out there.

“Trend Union and the Messy team share similar values of sustainability and responsible fashion regarding long-term relationships with partners and customers.”

Jake Ivic, Managing Director of Trend Union, added: “MessyWeekend is a perfect addition to our current eyewear portfolio. We’re excited to help build long-term relationships and drive passionate conversations for a brand whose mission we align with and believe in.”

As well as handcrafted sunglasses, the MessyWeekend offer includes ski goggles which feature magnetic lens changes.

The temples of its acetate sunglasses can be adjusted for a better personal fit, and the high quality lenses offer 100% protection against UV rays. They also have a scratch-resistant coating so the lenses last longer.

Upcoming MessyWeekend collaborations to look out for include with Logan Paul, Kronenbourg 1664, Morten Breum and Mads Nørgaard.

In an effort to reduce its impact on the environment MessyWeekend, which launched in 2018, has also partnered with ReSea Project, Plastic Change and 4ThePlanet. For every pair of sunglasses or goggles sold, the brand contributes part of its revenue to facilitate the clean-up of plastic bottles from oceans. So far, it has helped to remove over 230 tons of ocean plastic.
