The Industry moves to the demo.theindustry.fashion domain
The Industry has today relocated to a new domain demo.theindustry.fashion in a move designed to better reflect the platform's UK-wide reach and to emphasise its focus on the fashion industry.
We have also updated our social media handles to complement the new branding and we can now be found @theindustryfash on Twitter and @theindustryfashion on Instagram and @theindustryfashion on Facebook.
The Industry began life back in 2006 as a networking club, then known as The Fashion Business Club, before it was rebranded in 2011. Current owners Lauretta Roberts and Antony Hawman acquired the business in 2016 and relaunched it as UK-wide fashion industry content platform, while continuing with the networking club and with staging events.
"We have been delighted with the response to the content we are producing for The Industry and have grown traffic to the site almost 10-fold since we acquired it. But we felt the old URLs and social media handles, which featured London in them, failed to convey the reach we now have and did not place enough emphasis on our commitment to the fashion industry," said managing director and editor in chief Lauretta Roberts.
"The new URL and social media branding set us up for future growth both geographically and in terms of other verticals we may wish to expand into," she added.
The Industry has also signed a partnership with W London – Leicester Square to stage a series of knowledge sharing and networking events, the first of which is an interview with fashion and textiles designer Pearl Lowe taking place on 29 November.
This will be followed by a panel debate featuring leading female brand founders, including Goat's Jane Lewis and founder of BUNKS Rachel Smith-Bingham on 28 February 2018. The third event in the series will be an in conversation event with the chairman of Boohoo and Sophia Webster Peter Williams, which takes place on 10 April 2018.
