Shopwatch: Fat Buddha Store, Queen Street, Glasgow
Glasgow menswear independent retailer Fat Buddha Store has opened a new flagship store in the heart of the city at 81 Queen Street.
The retailer, which stocks a host of premium street-inspired fashion, footwear and lifestyle brands in its store and online has up-sized from its old location on Glasgow's Vincent Street.
Founder Leslie Doherty said he had scoured the city for a new location for two years before landing on the new two-storey store. "The new space is inspired by the local architecture, and has a striking monochrome look to it. The Queen Street area is where I managed my first retail store 23 years ago, so this really does feel like a homecoming. We hope people interested in the streetwear style come down and take a look at what we have to offer,” he said.
Fat Buddha Store celebrated its tenth anniversary last year and is a destination store for both street fashion and art supplies. Its ground floor offers brands such as Carhartt, Nike, Patagonia and Adidas while the basement level is dedicated to street-art supplies like spray paint, sketch books and paint pans.
