Schuh Kids signs for summer opening at West Midlands’ Merry Hill

Schuh Kids, the dedicated children’s shoes arm of leading high street footwear retailer Schuh, has signed for a 4,000 sq ft store at Merry Hill shopping centre in the West Midlands, set to open this summer – adjacent to its parent brand.

The new Schuh Kids store will feature the retailer’s full range of kids’ shoes, trainers, and boots collections, including Nike, Converse, Vans and Puma, as well as specialist kids’ footwear suppliers such as Lelli Kelly.

Neil Partington, Retail Director at Schuh, said: “We are delighted to introduce Schuh Kids into a new unit at Merry Hill, to provide a seamless shopping experience to our customers in the West Midlands. Meeting the growing demand from kids in the region, the new Schuh store will provide a vibrant home for our ever-growing footwear offering.

“Adapting to changes in the market, the store will move away from traditional gendered categorisation and present each collection by brand, as part of our new 2020 store design concept.”

The news of Merry Hill’s latest signing comes soon after the opening of a new 4,500 sq ft store for womenswear brand Vanilla in the Upper Mall, opposite Boots and showcasing its Blue Vanilla and Pink Vanilla collections.

It also comes soon after the recent announcement that Nike’s community-focused concept, Nike Unite, will launch a 10,165 sq ft space on Merry Hill’s lower level later this year.
