MOSS, the men's tailoring and occasion wear specialist, has selected Manchester Arndale, Europe's third-largest city-based shopping centre, for its newest retail location.

The 4,157 sq ft unit, on New Cannon Street, will join Sports Direct, Hollister, Gilly Hicks and Tommy Jeans at Manchester Arndale. MOSS' new space will reflect the "brand’s evolution to a modern, omni-channel retailer" by showcasing a broad product offering from casual to formalwear, whilst retaining the brand’s tailoring heritage for special occasions customers. MOSS recently rebranded from Moss Bros.

Its offering includes the casualwear range that launched in AW21, hire services and custom-made suiting. It also includes ready-to-wear edits in collaboration with Fred Sirieix.

Brian Brick, CEO at MOSS, commented: "Our customers tell us they want physical stores in the heart of their communities, and as such we are committed to the high street and the role that our stores and style advisors play in delivering the best brand experience for our audience.

"Our new store in Manchester Arndale will heighten the customer experience with a modern interior, which will allow our product and services to stand out. We are proud to renew our commitment to serve our customers in Manchester in this amazing new store."

MOSS recently announced a doubling of profits for the fiscal year ending January 2023. Earnings, on an EBITDA basis, were up by 112% from £17 million to £36 million, with turnover up by 63% from £93.1 million to £151.6 million year-on-year.

Steve Gray, Head of European Retail Asset Management at Global Mutual, added: "Manchester Arndale has a fantastic retail offering, and we continue to ensure there’s something for everyone, from formalwear brands like MOSS to sportswear specialists, and from high-end luxury to more affordable options as well.

"As we move through the year, we’re looking forward to announcing more exciting brands as we continue to reinforce Manchester Arndale’s reputation as a vibrant destination that attracts millions of visitors from across the North West and beyond."

Last month, Nike announced its plans to open a 13,418 sq ft store at Manchester Arndale later this year, in the last remaining space of the former Topshop unit.
