Matalan appoints retail veteran Jeremy Pee as Non-Executive Director

Matalan, the affordable fashion and homeware omnichannel retailer, has appointed Jeremy Pee to the Board as Non-Executive Director to  'drive profitable, sustainable growth'.

Jeremy Pee moves to Matalan from his most recent role as Chief Digital and Technology Officer at Marks and Spencer, where he led the business’s digital transformation over five years. Previously, he held roles at Loblaw Digital, where he established the online division of Canada’s largest retailer, and Staples, where he managed the P&L of the retailer’s largest category. He is also currently a Non-Executive Board Member of HM Land Registry.

The new recruit has over 20 years of retail experience and a proven track record of driving businesses’ digital strategy. With the appointment, Matalan aims to unlock omnichannel opportunities and 'drive profitable, sustainable growth'.

Last month, Matalan reported a 0.8% increase in revenue for the second quarter as it looks to build a "stronger, more modern" business. The fashion and homeware brand saw revenue rise to £288.6 million for the 13 weeks ending 26 August, compared to £286.4 million in 2022.
