18 September 2023

Condé Nast has today announced Chioma Nnadi will be promoted from Editor of Vogue.com to Head of Editorial Content at British Vogue, effective immediately.

The Vogue veteran has spent 13 years at the company, working her way up the ranks from Writer to Fashion News Director and, most recently, Editor of Vogue.com.

In her most recent role, Nnadi directed the digital content for the magazine and drove 'record-breaking engagement' across the website and social media. She headed digital coverage of the brand’s milestone events such as the Met Gala and Vogue World, which took place just last week.

Vogue World commenced the start of London Fashion Week and was somewhat a leaving party for British Vogue Editor in Chief Edward Enninful who steps down at the end of the year. Last week, speculatation of Chimoa Nnadi's appointment to the role was rising. The British journalist is said to be keen to return to London from New York and there is even talk that Dame Anna will also come back to the UK after decades in the US.

Anna Wintour, Chief Content Officer and Global Editorial Director at Vogue, commented: "Chioma is beloved among her colleagues at Vogue, and is an editor and writer with an impeccable reputation—both here and in the fashion industry at large. I'm so grateful to Edward Enninful for everything he's accomplished at British Vogue, and we're all looking forward to a productive and creative relationship with him in his new role. I can't think of a more worthy person to follow in his footsteps than Chioma..."

London-native, Nnadi, began her career on the features desk at the Evening Standard Magazine before moving to New Y‍‍‍ork to write for the style magazine, Trace. She then went to Fader, where she took the helm as Style Director. After her stint at Trace, Nnadi joined Vogue in 2010.

Chioma Nnadi, the newly appointed Head of Editorial Content at British Vogue, said: "I’m beyond excited and honoured to have been appointed as British Vogue’s Head of Editorial Content. As someone who was born and raised in London, the energy of the city—its boundary-pushing style and creative scene—has shaped the way I look at the world.

"Now, more than ever, it feels like a moment to look beyond borders while also celebrating the broad scope of what it means to be British. I’m looking forward to engaging a loyal and inspired digital community that is energised by our access, point of view, and storytelling."
