Celtic & Co. opens a pop-up shop in Shrewsbury

The Cornish fashion label Celtic & Co. is expanding its high street presence with the opening of its pop-up store Shrewsbury high street.

Founded in 1990 by Nick and Kath Whitworth, Celtic & Co. create premium clothing, footwear, and accessories with natural fibres that are kind to the wearer and the environment, such as luxury sheepskin slippers.

Following its recent success launching in-store with John Lewis in Cambridge and Peter Jones in London this year, the brand opened the store on Saturday 29 October, and it will remain open over the festive shopping period. What’s more, customers visiting the pop-up shop will receive a free branded tote bag with each purchase made over £50.

Zoe Bray, managing director of Celtic & Co., commented: “We were offered the opportunity to have a space in Shrewsbury town centre and we jumped at the chance.”

With an ethos to create ‘natural, sustainable style since 1990’, Celtic & Co. continues to align itself with kind-to-the-planet causes. The store space standing next to Turtle Doves, which shares the brand’s focus on sustainable materials as well as local design and manufacturing, was the perfect fit for the ethically transparent label which has been crafting sheepskin products for over 30 years.

Kath Whitworth, the co-founder of Celtic & Co., added: “Sustainability is the first thought in the design and production of our garments, with a goal of achieving a circular fashion model."

This comes after expanding its warehouse to a new 24,000 sq ft location at the refurbished former “Crantock Bakery” premises at Indian Queens, St Colomb, while online and mail order business continues to rapidly grow.
