British heritage brand Burberry has appointed Klaus Bierbrauer to the role of newly-created role Chief Supply Chain and Industrial Officer, with immediate effect.

Bierbrauer's appointment comes as the British luxury house continues to form a top team to deliver on the new vision for 'Modern British Luxury', as recently outlined by its new CEO.

In his new role, Bierbrauer will lead Burberry’s supply chain and product development teams globally. He will join the Executive Committee and report to Burberry Chief Executive Officer Jonathan Akeroyd.

Klaus joins the company with over 20 years experience in supply chain and ready-to-wear operations. He has held similar titles at Kering Group, predominantly at Gucci and Saint Laurent. Most recently, he served as Chief Operating Officer at Alexander McQueen.

Jonathan Akeroyd, Chief Executive Officer, Burberry: "Klaus has a wealth of experience in supply chain and industrialisation. Bringing our supply chain and product development teams together under his leadership will drive greater connectivity, while ensuring end-to-end ownership for delivery. I am delighted that Klaus will be joining our leadership team and I am excited about working closely with him to achieve our ambitions."

This news comes just weeks after the British fashion house appointed Kate Ferry, formerly of McLaren Group, as its new CFO.
