Burberry announces further support for relief efforts in Ukraine

Burberry is committing further support to the relief efforts in Ukraine amid the worsening conflict from the Russian invasion. The company will provide additional funding to the British Red Cross Ukraine Crisis Appeal, enabling the distribution of more food, hygiene products, warm clothes and aid.

In response to the escalating refugee crisis, the house added that it will also donate to Save the Children and UNICEF in support of their Ukraine humanitarian appeals. The organisations are working to provide essential services such as health, protection, education, water and sanitation to children and their families who have crossed into neighbouring countries for safety.

Besides providing financial aid, Burberry said it is exploring ways to leverage the global supply chain to support displaced communities, through the provision of food, shelter and warmth.

Gerry Murphy, Chair of Burberry said: "We are increasing our support for charities and aid agencies providing much needed food, shelter and essential services to the millions of children and families impacted by the conflict in Ukraine. We will continue to look for ways we can help alleviate the suffering of communities caught in this appalling crisis."
