Anine Bing will open its first standalone store in the UK, in London's Mayfair, following a the completion of a $15m Series A funding round in September.

The US contemporary womenswear label has taken a two-storey store at 3 Grosvenor Street, where near neighbours include Mulberry, Agent Provocateur and Jigsaw.

Founded by model Anine Bing and husband Nicolai Nielson in 2012, the brand has been backed by Index Ventures, Greycroft Partners and Felix Capital, who also back businesses such as Farfetch, Glossier and Gwyneth Paltrow's goop.

Speaking at the time of the investment, Frederic Court managing partner of Felix Capital said the brand was “a great illustration of what we are doing at Felix Capital, backing founders that build inspiring brands on top of engaged, authentic communities growing organically.”

Anine Bing already has eight retail stores in: West Hollywood (Los Angeles), Soho (NYC), West Village (NYC), Paris, London, Berlin, Barcelona, and Madrid. The brand made its UK debut via a store in Harvey Nichols, Knightsbridge, which opened in 2016.

Oliver Green, director in the Central London retail team at Savills, which announced the store signing on behalf of Royal London Mutual Insurance Society, said: “We are delighted to have secured this deal with Annie Bing for its first store in the UK. The aspirational luxury brand’s decision on location underlines the depth of demand from fashion retailers for space just off the prime pitch of Bond Street.”
