Very unveils ‘Lets Make It Sparkle’ Christmas TV ad with Girls Aloud’s festive tune

Online retailer Very has launched a Christmas campaign including an animated TV advertisement and new creative brand platform under the title of ‘Let’s Make It Sparkle’.

Put together by Very’s lead creative partner, The Gate, whose clients include the AA, Buzz Bingo and Chiltern Railways, the TV ad introduces viewers to Very’s new brand characters – pink flamingos called Kerry, Terry and Cherry.

A dull cityscape, where grey pigeons and the colourful flamingos are "dutifully Christmas shopping", is penetrated by pink thunderclouds rolling in against a backdrop of a remastered version of Girls Aloud’s ‘Merry Christmas Everybody’, transforming the scene into "something magical".

The pigeons are "left awestruck" by a team of pink delivery flamingos who are gracefully carrying Very parcels. As the parcels are delivered, Kerry, Terry and Cherry’s homes erupt into enormous clouds of magical pink glitter.

The new brand platform has been "built to deliver success over the short and long term" for Very. Following the debut of the Christmas ad, the flamingos will be the retailer’s distinctive characters to "drive brand love and recognition" with its customers.

Very’s Christmas campaign will run nationwide across TV, cinema, video on demand (VOD), out of home (OOH), digital and social media. The animation and characters were designed and produced by Nexus studios.
