The Industry interviews Olivia Pinnock, the Editor of TellusFashion

The Industry London
07 December 2011

Meet Olivia Pinnock, a new member of The Industry and editor of TellusFashion. Established in 2010, TellusFashion aims to give designers opportunity by way of recognition and a built-in clientele.

TellusFashion wants to reform the industry and be a one-stop shop for consumers to buy wares from emerging global designers and for customers to delve into unique content. Their represented designers can both showcase and sell their collections to a far-reaching customer base.

We catch up with Olivia for an exclusive interview:

1. How long have you been with TellusFashion?

I've been with TellusFashion full time for about four months now. Staffan Elfver and Daniel Johansson are the gentlemen responsible for founding the site and it's been really exciting working with it from the start and watching it grow.

2. TellusFashion is an exclusive fashion concierge. Can you tell us a bit more about the platform and what it can do?

TellusFashion is a place for people to find pieces they wouldn't find elsewhere. It's about unique fashion and turning up at a party knowing you'll be the only person wearing a particular piece. We host emerging designers and our designers come from all over the world to sell womenswear, menswear and accessories. We also have our online magazine that I edit, to promote the designers and to write engaging articles that will interest our customers. There are blogs and fashion TV and a space for emerging stylists, models, photographers, MUAs, etc. to showcase their work in our gallery too.

3. Do you have any plans for London Fashion Week in February?

It's still in talks at the moment but we are hoping to launch an ethical boutique on the site featuring all of our designers who encompass the fairtrade/organic/sustainable ethos. We are hoping the official launch of this will take place at the Good Fashion Show, which is a new off-schedule event. It is like Estethica but bigger and with more going on. Apart from that I will mostly be found running around the city with a bag of Percy Pigs visiting as many shows as I can!

4. How can members of The Industry get involved with TellusFashion?

However they like! We are always looking for new designers to come on board and sell. I'm also interested in interviewing industry professionals for our magazine to give customers a sense of what it's like to work in fashion. We've also been putting a stylist in touch with some of our designers to dress her clients for events and we're really interested in hearing from anyone who has a great idea for a collaboration. Or, just come and be a customer!
