Start-up Sewport aims to connect new and experienced brands with manufacturers

British start-up Sewport has unveiled its online platform to connect both new designers and established brands with manufacturers using a host of intelligent online tools.

For new designers Sewport will guide them through the manufacturing process "to jumpstart the path from a sketch to a product". It also consolidates service providers in one place, which it says eliminates the need to trawl through registries and make a large number of enquiry calls.

Both new and experienced brands can use the service's enquiry process, which uses intelligent algorithms categorise their projects and determine the best manufacturers for the job.

“Starting production of clothes for the first time is a very steep learning curve. We are removing complexity around creating a piece of clothing and improving lead qualification for manufacturers at the same time. Our team has years of experience in the garment production industry," said founder Boris Hodakel.

"During this time we faced many struggles and observed how brands and manufacturers hit the same wall over and over again. We decided to address these issues and created Sewport - a unique space where anyone can turn their passion into products," he added.

Sewport also enables collaboration of multiple service providers on a single project. The built-in multi-user chat room allows brands to invite multiple companies for a discussion, allowing manufacturers to pool their expertise to meet a brand's needs.

The business said it plans to disrupt the way brands and manufacturers work together and has ambitions to extend the service to other sectors in the future.
