Shoptalk Europe has unveiled its preliminary agenda, featuring more than 70 C-level retail executives, and has launched a programme offering free entry and up to €650 expenses reimbursement for qualified retailers and brands.

The pan-European summit, which takes place at Copenhagen's Bella Center from 9-11 October, is focused on the evolution of how consumers discover, shop and buy in an age of digital transformation, and covers the trends, technologies and business models disrupting retail and ecommerce. It is expected to attract around 2,000 delegates and 250 speakers.

A global line-up of speakers from fashion, brands, retail and technology unveiled so far includes: Farfetch chief strategy officer, Stephanie Phair; Vestiaire Collective founder and CEO Sébastien Fabre; Harrods managing director Michael Ward; Lyst co-founder and CEO Chris Morton; Notonthehighstreet.com CEO and co-founder Simon Belsham; House of Fraser chief information officer Julian Burnett; Hudson's Bay Company CEO Jerry Storch; and Pinterest president Tim Kendall.

Shoptalk Europe is a spin-off from established US event Shoptalk which took place recently in Las Vegas. It will feature around 100 sessions with 18 keynotes, addressing topics including: Shopping Experiences of the Future; Designing Innovative Products and Experiences; Digitisation of Physical Retail Stores; On-Demand, Delivery and Logistics; Investment and Entrepreneurship; and Disruptive Startups and Pioneering Brands among others.

The event was founded by technology entrepreneur and venture capital investor Anil D Aggarwal, whose latest tech company was acquired by Google in 2012 and who previously founded Money20/20 Europe – the largest Fintech event in Europe – as well as its US counterpart, Money20/20, which is the largest Fintech event globally.

"Shoptalk Europe facilitates a much-needed modern retail and ecommerce conversation and creates a new community of industry leaders and innovators,” said Aggarwal. “We fill a major industry gap because this pan-European – as well as global – dialogue and community don’t currently exist but are now critical to shaping the future of retail and e-commerce. With our content-rich agenda featuring more than 250 world-class speakers and the Hosted Retailers & Brands Program, we’re unique in putting retailers and brands first."

To qualify for the Hosted Retailers & Brands Programme, individuals who are responsible for evaluating or buying retail or e-commerce technology or other solutions for their companies must agree to eight 15-minute onsite meetings (a total of two hours) with selected Shoptalk Europe’s exhibitors and sponsors. The meetings are based on the interests and requirements of the retailers and brands.
