Seasalt introduces new resale platform with Reskinned

Cornish clothing brand Seasalt has extended its partnership with pre-loved clothing specialist Reskinned to launch a new resale platform.

Available from 2 April 2023, the new service will allow customers to buy pre-loved and repaired Seasalt clothing.

As part of this, clothing will be passed through a grading service to check the quality and condition of each piece. Items for resale will then be selected by the Reskinned team and ozone-cleansed (a zero-water cleaning process), with each garment certified as being in its "best condition" and ready to be sent to a new home.

The new platform is the latest phase in Seasalt's work with Reskinned. Last month, the partnership launched a take-back service, allowing customers to return pre-loved clothing to be rehoused or recycled in exchange for a Seasalt voucher. Since its launch, the service received over 2,000 items in the first six weeks.

Paul Hayes, CEO at Seasalt, said: “We’ve been overwhelmed by the incredible response from customers getting involved in the takeback initiative and are delighted to be able to launch the resale service so quickly.  It's so important to us, as a business, to do what we can to encourage circularity in our industry and the success to date is testimony to the quality of our Seasalt product.”

Founded in 2020, Reskinned has previously worked with a number of fashion brands, such as Joules and eBay, to help introduce and expand their preloved offering and reduce fashion waste.

Matt Hanrahan, Co-Founder of Reskinned, said: “At Reskinned, we’re opening up the pre-loved market to new shoppers. We do this by making buying pre-loved as straightforward as buying new, through our high-quality product photography and 30-day returns policy. Customers love what we do and our drop models work, with products generally selling through within three days and a returns rate that is significantly below industry norms.”
