Richard Johnson joins mytheresa.com as chief commercial officer

Richard Johnson, formerly commercial director at Matchesfashion.com, has joined Munich-based luxury etailer mytheresa.com as chief commercial officer with responsibility for all buying and merchandising.

Johnson, who had been with Matchesfashion.com for two years and prior to that Al Tayer Group and Harvey Nichols, will report into mytheresa.com president Michael Kliger. In his new role he will oversee the buying, retail & merchandising, and merchandise planning, and will manage all commercial and fashion aspects in regards to Mytheresa.com’s vendor relationships.

In addition Tiffany Hsu, previously buying manager ready-to-wear, has been promoted to fashion buying director. In her new role she will be responsible for all categories in the buying team and will drive mytheresa.com’s fashion direction by developing capsule collections as well as exclusives and special fashion collaborations. She will report to Johnson.

Mytheresa.com stocks more than 200 international designer brands, including Balenciaga, Saint Laurent, Prada and Valentino. In 2014 the business was acquired by US retail group Neiman Marcus.
