Luxury fashion brand Shrimps and cycling clothing brand Rapha have today unveiled their first collaborative collection of experimental clothing that bridges the gap between fashion and cycling.

The 9-piece boundary-blurring capsule combines Shrimps’ playful aesthetic with Rapha’s high-performance cycling apparel.

From a Wind Jacket with cinchable arms, to a Ponytail Cap with a detachable Shrimps bow, this collection puts a spin on traditional cycling apparel to redefine classic on-bike silhouettes.

Agata Jasinska, Womenswear Designer at Rapha, commented: "In the Rapha + Shrimps collection, we aim to transcend the conventional boundaries of cycling apparel, pushing the limits of what it currently is. By fusing our brands together, we strive to merge the feminine and playful style that defines Shrimps with Rapha's expertise in on-bike performance, resulting in something truly unexpected. Our aim here was to bridge the gap between sportswear and fashion, between lifestyle and on-bike clothing.

"Our hope is that the new silhouettes crafted through this collaboration will offer an opportunity for women to explore and experiment with how they look not only off but also on the bike."

The inspiration for the collection came from a wine-tasting cycling tour Shrimps’ Founder, Hannah Weiland, went on in Italy a few years ago. She was enamoured with the combination of cycling and indulgence while stopping off for a glass of wine or a scoop of ice cream.

Weiland said: "Together with the talented Rapha team, we have combined the playful, femininity of Shrimps with the performative elegance of Rapha. The colour palette includes a neon green, cornstarch blue and the iconic Shrimps gingham in a gorgeous camel/brown. This creates a juxtaposition between the grapevine print we have used throughout the collection giving you the visual experience of an Italian vineyard.

"We envisage our customers enjoying these pieces both on and off the bike, a true lifestyle collaboration, that takes you from bike to aperitivo bar."
