Primark reveals two new UK store locations as retail expansion continues

Primark is to open two new UK stores, one in Glasgow and one in Salisbury, as the value fashion giant continues its retail expansion.

The new Glasgow Fort store will be Primark's fourth in the Scottish city, and its 21st in Scotland, and is slated to open in early 2025. It will cover 33,000 sq ft of retail space across two floors, and will offer a variety of Primark basics and trending items across womenswear, menswear, kidswear, beauty and home.

This out-of-town retail park store will complement Primark’s existing stores in central Glasgow on Argyle Street and Sauchiehall Street, as well as its Parkhead Forge shopping centre store.

The news comes as Primark’s Edinburgh Princes Street undergoes a refurbishment which will be completed next week. The new-look Edinburgh store will boast a new refreshed look with new fixtures and fittings, improved signage, and a bank of self-service checkouts.

Alongside the new store, Primark is also set to open a new vintage clothing concession in partnership with WornWell in its Glasgow Argyle Street store later this year.

Meanwhile in the coming weeks Primark will open a new store in the cathedral city of Salisbury in Wiltshire. The 29,700 sq ft store, due to open on 13 September, is located in the old BHS building in the Old George Mall and will span two floors.

The opening of the new store, which comes as part of Primark’s £140m investment in UK retail by the end of 2024, has led to the creation of more than 100 new roles. Primark Salisbury is the retailer’s first new store opening in England in over two years and will become Primark’s 192nd in the UK.
