Philipp Plein opens Bond Street 'crypto concept store'
Philipp Plein has launched a new 'crypto concept' in his London flagship store, offering prices in alternative digital currencies, an NFT art gallery and a free trading platform for metaverse art.
Located on 9 Bond Street, the flagship features products that each carry a QR code containing the price in GBP and 25 cryptocurrencies.
The store's second floor opens up to Plein's Museum of NFT Art (MoNA), the "first physical art gallery of the metaverse". Lined with eight rectangular screens, the space includes a projection of Plein Plaza, the land bought for around £1.03 million in Decentraland and its very own NFT marketplace.
Part-museum and part-independent platform, the MoNA aims to introduce customers to the metaverse and promote new NFT artists to the market. Customers can buy digital art, bid on auctions and contact creators directly through their profiles.
