OluKai offers chance to win Hawaii trip instead of discounting this Black Friday

US comfort footwear brand OluKai is providing customers shopping on its newly-launched UK website over the Black Friday weekend the chance to win a “once-in-a-lifetime trip” to Hawaii, instead of discounting stock.

From Black Friday to Cyber Monday, all purchasers on the OluKai UK website will be automatically entered to win a four night stay at the Outrigger Hotel, a contemporary beachfront retreat located in the heart of Waikiki on O’ahu, with air fare for two and the winner’s choice of OluKai footwear provided. Every purchase equals one entry.

The move from the American retailer aims to stand out from the various discounts so many brands and retailers are offering over the Black Friday period, and the intention is also to spark the conversation as to whether “experiences over slashed prices are the future for this huge moment in retail”.

The B-Corp brand, which was founded in California in 2005 but is very much “Hawaii inspired” in design, launched its dedicated UK website at the end of August 2023.

The brand’s island inspired footwear includes men’s and women’s premium leather sandals, casual slip-ons, pure shearling slippers and trainers.

The winner of the holiday is eligible to redeem their trip at any point in 2024, subject to any restrictions from the property.
