Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss take to catwalk for Kim Jones' last Louis Vuitton show

British designer Kim Jones was accompanied down the catwalk at the end of his final menswear show for Louis Vuitton in Paris this afternoon by friends and supermodels Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss.

The pair had appeared in the show wearing high-shine monogrammed trench coats before returning hand in hand with Jones during the finale. In an Instagram post prior to the event Jones said the appearance of the two South London models, who both broke through in the early 90s, was a tribute to early 2000s Louis Vuitton womenswear, which was then presided over by Marc Jacobs.

It was Jacobs who appointed Jones to the role, which he revealed yesterday that he was leaving. Speculation has been swirling for some time that Jones might leave the Paris house as he was being pursued by Donatella Versace to join her Milan empire. However after Jones announced his departure, rumours also began to circulate that he might be in line to take over from Christopher Bailey at Burberry. Jones has thus far remained tight-lipped on future plans.

For his final show Jones did not disappoint his fans (including the Beckhams, footballer Neymar and actress Gwendoline Christie who were among those who came to pay their respects), which heavily referenced two of his favourite themes, sportswear and travel.

The collection features sports trainers, logo-bedecked baseballs Ts and monogrammed LV leggings under shorts. Elsewhere models wore slim trousers, hiking boots, backpacks and shirts featuring mountain-scape prints. A palette of metallics, blues and khakis was occasionally punctuated with a shock of high-vis fluorescent yellow, perfect should you find yourself stranded on a mountain and in need of rescuing.

Whichever brand lands Jones will be sure to scale greater heights....
