N Brown Group, the owner of JD Williams, has appointed Meg Lustman as an Independent Non-Executive Director to help support the group on its transformation journey.

Lustman brings over 35 years of retail experience to the role. Most recently, she served as CEO of Hobbs from 2014 to 2019, overseeing a period of growth for the brand against a tough trading environment.

Prior to this, she held senior positions at various fashion retailers in the UK, including John Lewis and Warehouse. She is also currently Vice Chair of the Court and Remuneration Committee at Glasgow Caledonian University, and has recently been appointed Chair of St Luke’s Hospice (Harrow and Brent).

As part of her new role at N Brown Group, Lustman will chair the group's Remuneration Committee from July 2023. She will succeed Gill Barr, who will be stepping down from the position.

Steve Johnson, CEO of N Brown Group, said: “We are delighted that Meg is joining us at this important time for the business. We are in the midst of our transformation plan at N Brown, and having led the transformation and growth of some of the UK high street’s best known brands, Meg’s experience will further strengthen the Board."

Meg Lustman, newly appointed Independent Non-Executive Director, said: “N Brown has great people who have an obvious pride for what they do. I look forward to supporting the Group as it moves forward on its transformation journey.”

The news follows the appointment of Dominic Appleton as Chief Financial Officer in February 2023, who takes over from Rachel Izzard. Appleton is an experienced finance professional having spent a total of 10 years at The Very Group, most recently as Group Finance Director.
