Mulberry has appointed Ted Baker's Charles Anderson as its new chief financial officer.

Anderson, who has been with Ted Baker for 17 years latterly as finance director of its subsidiaries, will join Mulberry in early October.

During his time at Ted Baker Anderson played a key role in its its international expansion and systems transformation, and oversaw its investor relations programme. He was also company secretary.

Anderson replaces Neil Ritchie at Mulberry who stood down from the board on 30 June and the British luxury brand's CEO Thierry Andretta said his experience would be valuable as it continues its own international expansion.

"We are delighted to welcome Charles to the Mulberry team. His experience of developing and overseeing a global finance function during a period of international expansion will be relevant as we grow Mulberry worldwide," Andretta said.

Prior to his appointment at Ted Baker, Anderson held various finance roles at House of Fraser, NatWest Markets and Carpetright. He leaves Ted Baker after a turbulent year for the global fashion and lifestyle brand, whose CEO and founder Ray Kelvin stood down following allegations of harassment by staff.
