Moss set to continue retail roll-out with three more UK stores

Moss, previously known as Moss Bros. before its recent rebrand, is opening three new UK stores this month as it continues its retail roll-out.

First to open is a 2,769 sq ft store at Unit 28, 6 Whitefriars Street in Canterbury tomorrow, 14 September, followed by a 2,479 sq ft store at Unit 2, 10 Fenchurch Street in East London on 18 September, and a 2,247 sq ft store at 185 High Street, Cheltenham, on 28 September.

The raft of openings follows hot on the heels of Moss’s 3,082 sq ft flagship store opening in Manchester Arndale on 3 August 2023, and the retailer opened relocated and rebranded stores in Oxford and Watford in February and March respectively.

The three new additions will take the company’s UK retail portfolio to 108 stores, with 12 under the new Moss branding and the existing majority still under the Moss Bros. name as the rebranding gathers pace.

Robbi Hicks, Head of Visual Development at Moss, said: “The three new stores are in locations where the brand has been present before, pre-Covid, as Moss Bros. But these are new sites. We were well known, well liked, and the brand was very prevalent in those locations, so it seems right to reintroduce Moss now.

“Where there is a good retail opportunity to reintroduce the brand, such as we have in Manchester – having previously had a Moss Bros. store in St Ann’s Square, we will continue to do so – especially now we have the new branding and product categories. It’s exciting for us.”

The three new Moss stores will house its ‘Custom Made’ tailoring service and contemporary new AW23 collection, which includes “rugged knitwear and luxe outerwear”.

Moss capitalised on the boom in weddings and other events post-pandemic, posting profits up more than 100% in the year ending January 2023, with turnover up 63% to £151.6 million (2022: £93.1 million).
