Matches offers Pay-in-4 option in partnership with Clearpay

Luxury retailer Matches has introduced a Pay-in-4 payment option for consumers in partnership with buy now, pay later (BNPL) platform Clearpay.

The BNPL option enables Matches customers to spread the cost of their luxury purchases across four, interest-free instalment. Matches sells a wide range of luxury brands for women and men including major names, such as Saint Laurent, Gucci and Prada, as well as more accessible designers from Ganni to Self-Portrait. As well as its online store it has physical stores in Wimbledon, Marylebone and Mayfair (pictured).

Matches CEO Nick Beighton said of the move: “We are pleased to pioneer customer innovation here at MATCHES and by working with Clearpay, we are able to offer flexibility to our customers by giving them autonomy on their payment choices. We are delighted to offer this option across our platforms and hope this will empower the customer to make the payment decision best suited to their lifestyle.”

The move takes Cleapay further into the luxury space and comes at an opportune time as festive shopping gets underway. “The crucial festive trading period is almost upon us with 39% of consumers having already begun or starting their Christmas shopping this month. By offering payment choice with Clearpay at the checkout, retailers can offer flexibility to consumers, helping them manage their spending. We have a successful track record in supporting our retail partners to attract new customers and convert sales, and we look forward to driving results for Matches," said Clearpay UK Country Manager Rich Bayer.
