Mango has announced plans for a new flagship store on London's iconic Oxford Street, due to open in Autumn 2021.

The new flagship store will be located at 223-225 Oxford Street, next to London Underground's Oxford Circus Tube Station, replacing a Gap store.

The store opening will transfer the previous flagship store, located next door, to the new location chosen by Mango, as it offers a layout better suited to the brands new Mediterranean-inspired store concept.

Describing the new store, the company said that "the aim is to create a functional, relaxed and welcoming space that promotes and simplifies the interaction between the customer and store staff, as well as improving the distribution of collections and the store layout."

The new flagship store will have a surface area of 1,400m squared and total three floors, selling womenswear, menswear and kidswear. It will also serve as the UK debut for the new mango store concept, which will see warm, natural colours throughout and sustainable and natural materials used.

In addition, sustainability and energy-efficiency are key elements in the development of the new flagship store, with energy-efficient lighting and temperature control systems to be implemented.

The Oxford Street store will also have an area dedicated for Mango advice services, where customers can discuss their preferences with staff and resolve any queries that may arise. The store will also offer a dedicated area for click and collect services.

Earlier this month, the fashion giant revealed it closed 2020 with a turnover of €1.842 billion, and an EBITDA of €193m, with online income representing 42% of total turnover, after growing by 36% to reach €766m.
