Landsec appoints Remco Simon as Managing Director, Strategy and Capital Markets

Bluewater owner Landsec has confirmed the appointment of Remco Simon to its executive leadership team in the newly created role of Managing Director, Strategy and Capital Markets.

In his new role, Simon will have responsibility for Landsec’s strategic planning, capital allocation and capital markets activity and will report directly to Mark Allan, Landsec's CEO.

Simon joins the UK commercial landlord from St Modwen where he was Managing Director, Strategy and Corporate Development. With over 15 years’ experience in international real estate capital markets, Simon has also held roles at Bank of America Merrill Lynch and Kempen & Co.

Last month, the FTSE 100 property firm purchased an additional 25% share in Kent’s Bluewater shopping centre for £172 million, adding to its 30% stake of the site. In a separate deal, the firm will sell 25% of the new share one of Bluewater co-owner M&G. The deal, which is expected to be completed in April 2022 will bring Landsec’s total share to 48.75%.
