Kendall Jenner is the ultimate ‘horse girl’ in Stella McCartney’s new campaign

Stella McCartney, the brand pioneering sustainable and conscious luxury, has today launched its Winter 2023 campaign, starring not only model-turned-equestrian Kendall Jenner but also a herd of McCartney-clad horses.

Shot by Harley Weir in the Camargue Salt Flats of France, Jenner is captured amongst the region’s famed white ponies – provided by horse whisperer and rescuer Jean-Francois Pignon.

The ‘Horse Power’ theme runs across collection elements and the campaign vision, first presented at Paris Fashion Week. It tells the story of the powerful connections between humans and horses – through the lenses of the designer’s personal relationships.

Stella McCartney commented: "I knew this season’s Stella girl had to love horses as much as I do. Kendall has been riding since she was a kid, just like me, and has her own ranch; you can see how at ease she is around these sensitive creatures, and them with her. Capturing this connection brings Horse Power to life, both through the fashion and the vision."

McCartney and Jenner share a lifelong love of horses, after taking up horse riding during their childhoods. This is reflected by the collection’s equestrian undertones, such as rope details inspired by bridle reins and quilting reinterpreting horse blankets. What's more, the Appaloosa jacquards reference the American breed Stella’s family raised when she was growing up.

Renowned for its sustainable material innovation, Stella McCartney has included vegan crocodile-effect Frayme and S-Wave bags crafted from apple waste. What’s more, the riding boots are made using grape waste. The collection also features accessories crafted from the brand’s recent discovery – mirum. Mirum is a vegan, plastic-free alternative to animal leather innovated by Natural Fiber Welding (NFW). Made from plant-based, all-natural ingredients, the material is the first of its kind to be both 100% recyclable and circular at the end of its life.

The collection, available in-store and online now, is crafted from 92% conscious materials - Stella McCartney’s most responsible winter offering to date.
