Jigsaw has parted ways with creative director Jo Sykes, who has been with the British brand since 2019. Her departure comes shortly after the appointment of retail veteran Hash Ladha as its new CEO.

The SS24 collection, created by Sykes, will be her last for brand. She has been credited with bringing a "strong visual language" back to Jigsaw during her four-year tenure and she also raised the profile of the brand with collaborations with the likes of Collagerie and, most recently, Roksanda Ilinčić.

Her departure comes less than a month after the arrival of new CEO Ladha. Ladha, formerly of Oasis and Warehouse and ASOS, was named as CEO at the end of October, replacing Beth Butterwick who is understood to be pursuing a career in the art world.

Ladha said of Sykes: “On behalf of the board, we would like to thank Jo for the important impact she has had on Jigsaw. Her creative leadership, combined with her determination and drive, has been a significant factor in elevating our brand. She has shown dedication and passion and she has played a major role in bringing Jigsaw back to being a brand with a strong visual handwriting and a product proposition with a distinctive point of view. Jo will be missed, and I want to take this opportunity on behalf of us all to wish her the very best for the future.”

Speaking of her departure Sykes commented: “Being a part of Jigsaw's story and illustrious heritage has been an honour. Leading the talented team at Jigsaw for over four years has been a highlight and I’m extremely proud of how we have elevated the creativity, sustainability, and diversity within our collections and the brand. I would like to thank our owners for this incredible opportunity. Jigsaw will forever hold a special place in my heart, as I embark on new ventures.”

A graduate of Central Saint Martins, Sykes is a well known figure in British fashion design and has had a long career in the business including senior design roles at Giorgio Armani, Aquascutum, Moncler Nicole Fahri and at her own label SYKES, among others.
