In Pictures: Sézane brings Paris to London ahead of the holidays

Sézane is betting big on London. The cult French fashion brand has just opened its second store in the capital, in the upscale neighbourhood of Marylebone, and is also staging a gifting pop-up in Covent Garden ahead of the holidays.

London is the first international city, outside of its home city of Paris, to be home to two permanent Sézane stores, or 'Appartments' as the brand calls them. Its first was opened on Westbourne Grove in 2018. The spacious new location is also home to its menswear brand Octobre Editions, which has a permanent corner in the store.

Like all Sézane Appartments, the Marylebone store has a distinct vintage Parisian vibe with relaxed seating around the footwear installations, retro cabinetry displaying its jewellery and accessories and distinctive shelving showing off its colourful array of knitwear. Various 'objets' from its interiors offer, called 'Les Composantes', add further visual appeal. While the vibe is distinctly Parisian, in keeping with the brand's sustainable credentials, many of the materials were sourced locally.

Meanwhile on Covent Garden's East Piazza Sézane is staging an Instagrammable pop-up selling gifting and a selection of its signature knits. Visitors can also enjoy hot drinks and sweet treats at its café. The pop-up is open until 29 November.

The brand's founder Morgane Sézalory said she had always felt a strong affinity with the UK capital. "London has always had a special place in my heart," she said. "It is a city of endless stories, where anything feels possible. Over the years, it has become a second home, and as we celebrate 10 years of Sézane, it only felt right to pay homage to the city that has had such an important role in the history of Sézane."

Sézalory described the new London store as "an encapsulation of two great cities and a celebration of their creativity and rich history". "Through unique details and finishing touches that nod to London's swinging 60s era, this new Marylebone store is an ode to the vibrancy and creativity of London and the people who make it the innovative city it is today," she added.
