In Pictures: Allbirds introduces the new ‘Courier’ trainers
Sustainable footwear and apparel label, Allbirds, has fused simplicity and comfort to create the new, vintage-inspired Courier trainers.
The Courier, available in five colourways, puts a modern twist on old-school trainers. The sustainably-focused style features an upper made of organic canvas cotton and eucalyptus tree fibre as well as a lining made of Tencel lyocell and recycled polyester blend. What's more, the midsole is crafted from sugarcane-derived Green Eva.
Sustainability is at the heart of the brand. Earlier this year it unveiled the highly anticipated MO.ONSHOT, the world’s first net zero carbon shoe, at the Global Fashion Summit in Copenhagen.
The new Courier, an elevated classic, brings VP of Product Design Ashley Comeaux’s design direction to life. It is available to shop online now at Albirds in both men’s and women’s sizing for £120.
The new silhouette is introduced amid the company's transformation. Earlier this month, Allbirds reported "solid progress" during the second quarter of 2023, ending 30 June, as it undergoes business transformation to drive growth.
Net revenue decreased by 9.8% to £55.2 million ($70.5 million), compared to last year’s increase of 3.8% and gross profit totalled £23.6 million ($30.1 million) compared to £22.1 million ($28.2 million) the year prior.
