French fashion and lifestyle brand IKKS Paris is running a modelling competition to give kids the opportunity to be featured in the brand’s SS23 campaign, which has a “being yourself” theme.

Running from 20 October – 5 November 2022, the competition is open to children aged 2 - 15 years with a simple entry process. Entrants can head to either the IKKS Paris Carnaby Street or King’s Road store to have a photo taken by their parent, which they can then upload to the IKKS Paris website themselves with contact details.

Six winners will be selected, championing three girls and three boys, and they will be invited on a trip to Paris to make their modelling debut.

Travel and accommodation will be provided by IKKS Paris for each winner and one guardian. IKKS Paris childrenswear ranges from 3 months - 16 years old.

IKKS Paris opened its first UK store at 3-4 Carnaby Street in May this year, and added another store at 109 King’s Road in July.

In an interview with The Industry.fashion in July 2022, Ludovic Manzon, CEO of IKKS Paris, said: “Carnaby Street has a good mix between local and international consumers, giving us a chance to connect with Londoners as well with tourists from across the world. It’s a great window to express our brand. The King’s Road is targeted more at a local consumer, and fits our ambition to be a meaningful French brand to people that live in London.

“We are planning to expand beyond London in 2023. Both the Carnaby Street store and the King’s Road location will give us a good read on the next steps.”

IKKS Paris was founded as a childrenswear brand in 1987 by “free spirit”, Gerard Le Goeff, with a unique and disruptive DNA, “adopting adult codes to the junior category.”

It then extended to womenswear in 1999, and menswear was added in 2003. The brand is now owned by Avenue Capital and Carval Investors, the majority shareholders.
