Harvey Nichols partners with Bink on "Payment Linked Loyalty"

Harvey Nichols has partnered with Bink, which will integrated its Payment Linked Loyalty (PLL) technology into the luxury department store's existing digital Rewards scheme.

The partnership launches later this year and means shoppers will be able to collect loyalty points each time they pay with their payment card. The technology enables retailers to recognise automatically the consumer’s loyalty ID meaning they never have to show a loyalty card or coupon, or give a membership ID at the checkout again.

Harvey Nichols' Rewards scheme allows customers to collect points via an app. The Bink technology will recognise the four different levels of membership (Silver, Gold, Platinum, Black), allowing Harvey Nichols to reward existing customers for their spending, while also acquiring more shoppers onto the scheme.

Customers will benefit from PLL across seven Harvey Nichols UK stores – Knightsbridge, Bristol, Manchester, Edinburgh, Birmingham, Leeds and Liverpool – in time for Christmas.

“We’re delighted to be working with Bink, who have already made significant strides in the retail sector. As adopters of loyalty technology ourselves, we’re committed to streamlining our customers’ shopping experience and ensuring they can earn and redeem their rewards conveniently. For this reason, a simple add-on such as Bink’s Payment Linked Loyalty is the perfect solution for us,” said Harvey Nichols group acquistions and retentions manager Rob Partridge.

Start-up Bink has already partnered with Arcadia, Avios and Virgin Atlantic. "[...] technologies such as contactless payments, mobile, and Payment Linked Loyalty are transforming the retail industry and we are delighted that Harvey Nichols are embracing these trends. We’re excited to help them form even stronger customer relationships and further enhance their popular loyalty programme,” said Bink founder and CEO Lee Clarke.
