George at Asda extends clothing range for people with disabilities

George at Asda, the first supermarket to launch an adaptive clothing range for people with disabilities, has extended the range to include more specific needs.

In support of independent dressing for those with disabilities from babies through to adults, the casualwear collection has been specially adapted to make independent dressing easier for those with additional needs and reduced mobility. The range is produced in support of BBC Children in Need.

In September, it was announced that George at Asda reunited with the world-famous children’s author and illustrator Liz Pichon to design the official Children in Need T-shirt. The 100% soft-to-touch cotton tees are sensory kind, with soft thread seams for extra comfort.

The adaptive bodysuit has an envelope neck and press stud fastening for easier dressing and cutout details that allow for adaptive medical needs, such as feeding tubes.

What's more, hidden hook and loop fasteners on necklines make slipping sweatshirts and tees on and off easier, whilst higher backs and longer legs ensure a level waistband and perfect leg length when seated.

The Pudsey sweatshirt and jogger set features hook-and-loop shoulders on both the top and bottoms for ease of getting on and off and allows for leg braces or additional support.

Vicki Radford, Buying Manager at George, commented: "We continue to build on our adaptive wear collection every year, learning from our customers what they need specifically for their children, and how we can make them feel more comfortable. We want these pieces to be competitively priced and affordable and allow their children to wear fun cool clothes the same as their friends."
