GAP is to donate 5,000 of its brand new contour face masks to the UK Charity, The Princes Trust. Created with an adjustable nose piece for a comfortable and secure fit, these new masks are made with soft, lightweight cotton.

GAP Europe said it is "proud to donate 5,000 masks to The Princes Trust UK and 5,000 masks to AJE Paris.", helping the worldwide efforts to reduce the risk of transmission from Coronavirus in public.

The triple-layered, non medical grade masks are available in packs of three, in both adults and children's sizes ensuring that everyone has equal opportunities to protect their health, regardless of age or face size.

Earlier this month it was reported that in England, where the mandatory wearing of face coverings or face masks in shops came into force on 24 July, footfall increased by just +2.5% compared to +4% in the other nations of the UK.

In the weeks since it became compulsory for customers to wear face masks in shops, independent retailers have given their views to TheIndustry.fashion on how it’s been received.

Rapper and fashion designer Kanye West has recently inked a “multi-year partnership” for a new line of apparel for men, women and children called Yeezy Gap – set to launch in the retailer’s stores and online in the first half of 2021.

Earlier this year, Gap Inc, which operates a portfolio of lifestyle brands, including Old Navy, GAP, Athleta and Banana Republic, reported its financial results for the first quarter of fiscal year 2020, ending 2 May showing an operating loss of $1.2bn.
