French Connection makes a grand return to Guildford

French Connection has opened its latest store in the heart of Guildford's city centre, marking the return to one of the brand’s original retail destinations.

The new minimalist store, located on 76 High Street, is an extension of the brand's aesthetic. It is stocked with a curated selection of its "premium fashion buy" across both women's and menswear, including footwear and accessories.

Simon Donoghue, MD Direct to Consumer at French Connection, said: "We are thrilled to be bringing French Connection back to Guildford. We have always loved and missed our Guildford location and customers.

"Our new store will showcase our latest collections, allowing customers to explore our diverse range of fashion-forward clothing and accessories."

Since 2021 French Connection has been owned by MIP Holdings Ltd, a consortium comprising UK-based entrepreneurs Apinder Singh Ghura – who at the time was French Connection’s second-largest shareholder – and Amarjit Singh Grewal along with holding company KJR Brothers.

The consortium set about reviving the brand's fortunes by playing on its heritage (it was founded more than 50 years ago by entrepreneur Stephen Marks) and expanding its retail footprint.

In recent months, the company has also opened new retail locations at Manchester Arndale, Designer Outlet York and the O2.
