Dragon Ball Z, an anime series popularised in the '90s, is regaining popularity, exemplified by new collaborations with fashion brands Lee and Criminal Damage.

The anime franchise's first apparel collection launched today with Lee. The collection includes tops, tees as well as shorts and a knit dress for women. Of course, each piece is adorned with iconic Dragon Ball Z characters, such as Goku and the franchise’s logo.

The collaboration is an ode to the late ‘90s when both Dragon Ball Z and Lee were defining a generation. For thirty years, this franchise has become a cultural phenomenon, with an impact across fashion, music and culture.

Joe Broyles, Global Vice President of Collaborations at Lee, commented: "A generation of fans were introduced to anime through Dragon Ball Z in the ‘90s, and that same generation grew up wearing Lee®. This capsule takes a fun approach to blend authentic nostalgia with trends. We’re excited to introduce it to fans of yesterday and today."

The collection focuses on tops and tees with select shorts and a knit dress for women. Styles are in men’s, women’s, and unisex sizes. Bright colors and Dragon Ball Z characters and logos adorn each piece. Prices range from £40 T-shirts to £75 dresses. The capsule is available on Lee.com as well as in stores.

Dragon Ball Z is also collaborating on a limited edition collection with the streetwear brand Criminal Damage. The collection pays homage to some of Dragon Ball Z’s key characters, including Goku, Vegeta and Shenron.

Monty Aytan, Criminal Damage’s Creative Director, said: "We are so proud to be collaborating with such an iconic brand. I, myself, grew up watching Dragon Ball Z and it was a big part of my childhood, so this collection is close to my heart. The garments are a creative fusion of streetwear mixed with the classic retro feel that makes Dragon Ball Z instantly recognisable across the globe."

The 18-piece collection includes t-shirts, hoodies, jeans, cargo trousers and more. It will be available to shop online at Criminal Damage with prices ranging from £40.00 to £150.00.
