Aquila Holdings, the landlord of Chelmsford’s Bond Street, has boosted its retail offering at the shopping destination to include Rituals, Accessorize and Mint Velvet.

This past year has revealed a trend in retailers heading back to the high street, which is reflected by Bond Street's new signings. The shopping and leisure destination in Chelmsford first welcomed Mint Velvet, the British womenswear brand, in August. The brand, which specialises in affordable luxury and wardrobe staples, is occupying a 4,300 sq ft store.

Completing the slew of retail signings is Accessorize, the trend-led jewellery brand, in a 1,680 sq ft unit that is due to open this month.

Dominic Chambers, Managing Director of Aquila Holdings, said: "Bond Street is the home for premium retail in Chelmsford and we’re delighted to announce these new lettings so soon after the openings of Charles Tyrwhitt, Sweaty Betty and Leon. Leasing demand has been excellent and demonstrates the resilience of Chelmsford as a prime retailing city."

Rituals, the home and body cosmetics company, is also set to open its doors at Bond Street. The retailer will open the doors to 3,500 sq ft unit this month, which will stock a range of ‘luxurious yet affordable’ bath, body and home products. This adds the Bond Street’s existing home and beauty offering, joining brands including The White Company and L’Occitane.

Penny Grivea, Managing Director for UK and Ireland at Rituals, added: "Living during these ever-changing, fast-paced times, we understand more than ever the need for creating moments of joy and feeling balanced during our everyday life.

"The new Bond Street store will help customers to achieve a sense of wellbeing by finding the perfect products that will help them to balance the body, mind and soul. This opening marks an exciting time for the brand in growing our retail presence across the UK."

The new brands will sit alongside popular existing retailers including Oliver Bonas, Goldsmiths and TAG Heuer.
